This is the moment a photographer captured a volcano erupting in super-high definition.
The stunning footage shows the natural occurrence in more detail than you’ve ever seen before.
Looking like a still from a movie, filmmaker Martin Heck, 23, admits he stumbled across the eruption by accident.
The German born filmmaker was filming in Patagonia, Chile at the time.
These are the explosive images of some of the worlds most astonishing volcanic eruptions. Spectacular snaps capture lava spewing down the side of Kilauea, ash spitting from craters and plumes of smoke rising thousands of feet in the air.

Rare up close footage of Lava entering the ocean.
He was filming a time lapse video of the stunning countryside, about 20 miles away from Mount Calbuco.
And although he was aware the volcano was still active, an eruption had not been predicted.
In fact, the volcano hadn’t erupted for more than 42-years.
Martin claims: “A huge portion of luck was involved getting these shots. Nobody expected the eruption, including the experienced Chilean volcanologists.”
The volcano erupted for the first time in 42 years
He added: “It’s hard to describe the situation in words. We were standing with dropped jaws whilst trying to capture the action with all equipment we had at our hands. We were glad that we were out of the 20km evacuation radius but very excited at the same time that we got a front-row view of the spectacle.”
“But when you hear and feel the eruption from over 35km away you realise that you are pretty insignificant as a human being when compared to the forces of nature.””On this particular day we had already shot a lot of footage so all of our memory cards were filled and batteries were drained when the volcano started erupting.”
“We pulled out all the stops to keep recording the event by backing up cards and charging batteries with the car engine during the eruption.”
“It pretty quickly was clear to us that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity so we did everything possible to capture as much footage as possible.”
