Wednesday is officially first day of fall. The leaves will soon begin to change color, the temperature will drop and we’ll spend far too much of our paycheck on caffeinated seasonal beverages.
In celebration of the first day of fall, Starbucks is releasing its first seasonal fall drink in four years: the Toasted Graham Latte, freshly served in a new fall cup.
While the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) is a fall staple, the Toasted Graham Latte (TGL) is a welcomed addition to Starbucks’ seasonal team, considering we’ve all taken the whole pumpkin spice thing way too far. The TGL is definitely sweeter than your typical latte, however, but it’s not as intense as the PSL, making it an everyday drinker.
The flavor was created by soaking honey graham crackers in warm milk, which is exactly what the drink tastes like. Starbucks also relates the drink to the “nostalgic flavor of milk left behind in the cereal bowl,” except this milk will make you feel warm and cozy in addition to delivering your caffeine fix.
The drink consists of espresso, steamed milk, toasted graham cracker syrup and it’s topped with cinnamon graham crumble. As always you can have whipped cream added to the drink.
Jumping off its easily recognizable red holiday cups, Starbucks also launched a new fall paper cup, which features hand-drawn autumn-inspired drawings like leaves, pumpkins and pine cones.
